From the President...
Greetings to all and welcome to the Central New York Wellesley community website! We are thrilled to take this opportunity to connect with old and new friends in upstate New York. Please contact us with your ideas as we are always looking for ways to share, support and have fun!
Our club is divided into four areas to facilitate local programming and outreach: Syracuse Area, Ithaca Area, North Country Area and Elmira/Corning Area. This year we continue to participate in Wellesley’s Book Awards to outstanding junior women in high school. We award and fund approximately 26 books a year working with high schools ranging from Seneca Falls in the west to Cooperstown in the east; from the Adirondacks to Canada in the north and south to the Pennsylvania border. This keeps Wellesley in front of students, parents, guidance counselors and friends in the region.
We also have alums who volunteer in our wide geographic area to interview potential students who do not wish, or are not able to go to Wellesley in person. As a result, we are proud to announce newly enrolled students from our region. We are always looking for volunteers to attend fall college fairs at various high schools on behalf of Wellesley. It's a great opportunity to share your enthusiasm and meet fellow alumnae.
And if you’re already overcommitted, we encourage you to support us with an annual donation.
Visit our new page often to read about recent CNY Wellesley Club events, view photos and get in touch with others in our region. If you have questions or would like to get involved, please reach out to us!
